COUNSENUTH – (The Centre for
Counseling, Nutrition and Health Care), is a Tanzanian-based NGO working
to improve the quality of life for Tanzanians by promoting preventive
health, nutrition, and counseling at the community level. Nutrition is
important to maintain everyone's health, and for people living with HIV,
proper nutrition can help ward off disease and keep their immune system
stronger and longer. COUNSENUTH recognizes that nutrition knowledge is
often influenced by poverty, by traditional beliefs, and sometimes by
myths and misinformation. In collaboration with different partners in
Tanzania, COUNSENUTH has worked to develop a more coordinated nutrition
response to reach more Tanzanians with one clear message: Good nutrition
is an important part of care and support to HIV infected person. It
hopes to have its website
www.counsenuth.org operating
shortly.
