| Remember!
Trees are amazing! They provide timber for building our houses, schools
and boats, paper for our books, firewood to keep us warm, food (leaves, fruit,
nuts, shoots, roots, bark), oil for cooking and light, fodder for our animals,
shade for our families and crops, medicines for our illnesses, pesticides and
fungicides to protect our harvests. Sometimes we eat their sap, other
times we drive cars and buses on it. Not least, trees beautify our world
and raise our spirits. Learn more about trees. Find room for some on
your land. Tell your friends, so that they, too, can share in their
bounty. Raise trees from seeds and cuttings. Learn about
layering and grafting. Give your neighbours your spare seedlings.
Plant trees for your children and their children. Long after you've gone,
they will still be thanking you!
